Palantir currently seeking a self-motivated candidate to fill a SET position at our Palo Alto office. As a Software Design Engineer in Test, you will be driving the quality of development and streamlining the testing process. In addition, you'll be building infrastructure to improve testability of all code. Ideally, you're a self-starter with a passion for tools and technology. You must have a strong testing background and strong programming and debugging skills with Java or another OOP language. Experience with automation and load testing tools such as SilkTest, WinRunner, JUnit, JUnitPerf, Squish or SilkPerformer are a major plus.
Responsibilities
* Develop automated GUI tests using SilkTest for Windows, Linux, and Solaris
* Includes design and architecture of the automation framework
* Develop and implement tests for installation packages
* Enhance regression suites to implement complex testing scenarios
* Focusing on more permutations of functional testing and increasing code coverage
* Manage nightly automation and unit testing processes - includes analyzing defects and reporting issues to team
* Maintain a dashboard for scheduling/tracking automation and unit tests
* Manage, enhance, and grow release metrics system
* Be a technical thought leader for the QA organization
Key Requirements
* Must have experience in automation and development in a Unix and Windows environment
* Experience in testing system-level software written in C#/C++ and Java related technologies
* BS degree in EE, Computer Engineering or CS (or equivalent experience) is required, graduate degree is desired
* Knowledge of relational databases and database testing experience would be a plus
* Tool creation and script automation for testing using Perl/Python, Java, and Unix shell
* Experience with JUnit is a plus
* Experience and comfortable in a Unix, Linux, and Windows development and testing environment
* Experience with Quality Assurance and testing methodologies, and familiarity with defects reporting, reports standardization, and entrance and exit criteria
* Experience with Eclipse Integrated Development Environment would be great. JavaScript development is a plus
