LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Position Summary:
A Systems Administrator/Architect with a strong Linux background, familiarity with system-level and web-based programming and a cogent grasp of high availability in LAMP applications. We have an immediate requirement for a talented professional who is capable of maintaining, improving and expanding our environment and helping us architect new solutions and bring our capacity and system performance to the next level.
Essential Responsibilities:
* System Administration of Linux based Servers
* Installation, configuration and tuning of PHP, MySQL and Apache
* 24x7 monitoring and support of production environment including backup rotations
* Automation of common repetitive tasks where possible
* Installing and updating in-house developed applications in a production environment
* Creation of documentation of processes and procedures that are developed
Travel Responsibilities:
* Minimal travel requirements
Basic Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
* 5 years advanced experience with Linux (RedHat Enterprise or CentOS, recent work in at least versions 4.4 or higher)
* 3 years advanced experience with RPM (Building, deployment and conflict resolution of packages)
* 4 years advanced experience with MySQL (installation, monitoring and tuning, replication)
* 3 years experience with Apache Web Server (configuration, monitoring, tuning and scaling)
* 2 years experience with LigHTTPD Web Server (configuration, monitoring, tuning and scaling)
* 3 years experience with PHP (web applications)
* Basic system programming with Perl / Python /Ruby
* Basic experience with MemcacheD (installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning and application interaction)
* Experience using Load Balancing for applications and web services
* Strong communication skills as you will be working closely with different teams within the company
* Self motivated with a minimum need for instructions to get a task accomplished
* Good writing skills to document processes and log changes for future reference
